Karachi - Suspects in Daniel Pearl Murder Case Arrive at Court


Pakistani police help two of four suspects in the case of slain American reporter Daniel Pearl as they board an armoured car, on the premises of Sind provincial high court, in Karachi February 25, 2002. Pearl, the Wall Street Journal's South Asian bureau chief, disappeared on January 23 in Karachi while working on a story about Islamic radicals in Pakistan and their links with Osama bin Laden.

Escorted by dozens of heavily armed police officers, three Islamic militants believed to have participated in the abduction and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl appeared in court and were ordered jailed for two more weeks while prosecutors develop their case.
