Cockfighting in Pakistan
Photo-Feature By Akhtar Soomro
.
Cockfighting is not traditional to Pakistan as it is in Bali, Thailand, the Philippines and some other parts of the world. It is a hobby, practised mainly by local drivers, cart movers and labourers.

The fights often take place in quiet residential streets rather than in open grounds. Although betting is not allowed in public places, in the event local Police forces often turn a blind eye in exchange for a little bribe. A ten rupee bribe for each fight works well.
